History of MCare Solutions, Inc.
MCare Solutions, Inc. was founded in 2005 as the first provider of transfer DRG reimbursement recovery services for acute care providers. To date, we have reviewed and analyzed millions of discharges and are responsible for more than $75 million in reimbursements to our client hospitals.
Client hospitals are able to realize transfer DRG reimbursements to which they are entitled as a result of services provided by MCare. The initial Medicare fee-for-service focus has since expanded to include acute care discharges related to Medicare Advantage payers, Medicare Inpatient Rehab and Medicare Advantage IME/GME reimbursement. At the client's option, MCare will perform all rebilling and account maintenance activities, thus providing a truly turnkey service.
MCare recently began providing hospitals with a solution to the erroneous, but longstanding industry practice of automatically combining, or “bundling,” ER charges on the same-day Inpatient claim. Clients are now able to realize reimbursements from unbundling those services in accordance with the 3-Day Payment Window regulations.
